After installing u-boot, I managed to run meego, but very very slow of running meego.
I did remove the SD card, and applied the steps as mentioned in your instructions. I never get back to my old system-maemo. Every time I press the start button the penguin icon will show up and it says " Kernel Starting..... " then tun off automatically. It happens everytime I try to switch on, either by inserting SD or without SD.... what should I do to boot into the old system? Pls help..... :(

For help ! to anyone have redline on sim card...:)this problem comes when u make update sp follow this steps to reslove this problem:

1-Be sure you have windows 32-bits *XP,Vista,win7* if u have 64-bits its will not work.

2-Be sure you already install the PC suit last vesion and Nokia software updater.

3-Head on over to http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-dev-env-downloads.php, download the version of Maemo Flasher 3.5 appropriate for your system and install it. You should be able to find a version that supports your operating system no matter what you’re running.

4- Step 2: Goto http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php and you’ll be greeted by an authentication page. Enter your IMEI in the field besides “Enter product id:” and click Send. Accept the End User Software Agreement on the next page and you’ll be redirected to a page containing firmware images for the N900.

5-Step 3: Download the file ‘RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin’ which is the ‘Second Maemo 5 Global release for Nokia N900. Make sure you select the Global release and not any of the regional ones to avoid problems with different keyboard layouts and so forth.

6-Remember that firmware image we downloaded? You will want to move that file into the same directory that you installed Maemo Flasher 3.5 and is shown when you first launch the tool.

7-Launch Maemo Flasher 3.5. Assuming you kept all of the settings default, you can find it by navigating to Start -> All Programs -> Maemo -> Maemo Flasher 3.5

8-open command prompt right this cd\programs files/maemo/flasher-3.5 press enter
than put comment : flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R (press enter) ,you will see suitable USB device not found, waiting. now u will turn mobile off and put usb cable and press (U) and turn mobile on. u will see the Nokia N900 in update mode and the flash will be continue :) and then u will finish for the flash Nokia N900 . :)
