Maep is a tile based map utility for services like openstreetmap, google maps and virtual earth. Maep is meant to easily be included into other programs and to become a universal map widget for the Maemo5 platform. Now its available in portrait mode too.

I tried this app out a long time ago, and I couldn’t get my GPS position to show on the map. Isn’t that a GPS position indicator in the screenie? Do I need another app to get that to work?
Ah excellent it does it all by itself now. Impressed! This is practically a competitor for Ovi Maps now.
