Maemo 5 SDK Release 5 reveals more awesomeness coming soon to Nokia N900

Forum Nokia released Maemo 5 SDK Release 5 . The SDK consists of a Maemo emulator which can run maemo apps and games in it virtually. It also revealed some new things coming to Nokia N900 in its next update PR 1.2.

MohammadAG from Maemo Forum shared some cool infos about what he found in the SDK. The new changes are expected to come with Maemo Software Update PR 1.2. The changes are

1.Virtual keyboard has been redone.

2. There is no  “More…” option in menu. The menu icons when holds allows them to rearrange.

3. Clear device is back in Settings. It allows to restore original setting and reset device.

4.The browser UI is refurbished a new back button takes back you to page visited before and not to history. History can be accessed swiping right.

5. Enable rotation is now an option in Settings (Browser). Portrait mode is activated by default.

6.Volume buttons can be set to change volume or zoom only in browser.

7. User Guide accessible from a main menu with a new icon.

8.Media player has a play button icon instead of the moving bars (bottom right area).

9. Ovi Store link in “Change background” and “Themes” area. You can download themes and backgrounds from OVI store now.

10.Browser seems much much snappier, scrolling is quick and rendering is uber quick! Not sure if this is related to the much faster processor but the gecko engine was updated. This is what we needed wow .
11.File manager has a share option for all files. We can send any files through bluetooth.

12.Video call option can now be enabled in contacts, SMSs to landlines can be disabled, voicemail number can be set.
